WakeHouse Staff Picks | Wakesurfing Essentials

May 06, 2021

This summer, a lot of memories will be created on the boat. Some of our favorite memories are the ones with our closest friends and family wakesurfing behind the boat. That is because being on the boat is incredible in itself, but adding a sport like wakesurfing that is easy to do and can be enjoyed by all is icing on the cake. Here is our staff picks for wakesurfing essentials:

Ronix Koal Wakesurf w/ Technora

"I love this board because the huge surface area in the tail makes finding the sweet spot in the wave effortless. Also, due to the shear width of the board a person that would normally have to ride a 5' board can size down to a more playful size of a 4'5". By sizing down, it gives the board more of a skim board style feel on the wave." - Josh Nyhuis, Proshop Manager Action Water Sports

Ronix Wake Surf Rope / Handle Package

"The Ronix Wake Surf Rope & Handle package is a lifesaver when you lose the wave in a hurry. Instead of big snap when the slack lets up, this package includes a bungee section which lightens the impact. The handle is comfortable and the knots make it easy to pull yourself right into the wave pocket where you want to be. It's a favorite accessory in my surf quiver!" - Brian Lerch, E-Commerce Director WakeHouse

Ronix Eight.3 Wakesurf Shaper(Video Review)

"When this first came out, I was a bit skeptical because I didn't think one device could shape your wake that much like advertised. I was wrong. If you have a boat that does not have a modern day surf system, this could really change the way you wakesurf. I also loved how you could put it on either side of your boat so all my friends could benefit as well." - Jathan Koetje, Content Director Action Water Sports

Quiksilver Acid Print 17" Volley Boardshorts

"I love boardshorts that give a little at the waist. Too often I find boardshorts I like and can't wear them because they are restrictive at the waist. Not the case with these! They fit comfortable and are shorter length than normal boardshorts, which is more my style. Also, the light acid wash finish on these makes for a cool design." - Nate Beebe, Graphic Design Action Water Sports

O'Neill Slasher Comp Vest

"When wakesurfing my go to is the O'neill Slasher vest. When surfing there is a lot of body movement that the slasher allows you to do unrestricted. It's slim and flexible, but floats well for a comp vest with O'Neill's new Nytrolite foam. I've surfed with other comp vests, but the slasher provides the best buoyancy for how slim it is." - Will Zoodsma, Customer Support WakeHouse
