Ronix RXT Vs. Ronix One Blackout | Wakeboard Comparison

January 26, 2022

Both the RXT and the One are staples in the Ronix line. If you are looking for a high-performance wakeboard that won't hold you back from progressing, the RXT and One are both great options. But which board would be a better fit for you? In this blog we will take a deep dive and look at the differences between the two boards to help you determine which board would work best for you and your riding style.

Ronix RXT

The RXT features a continuous rocker from tip to tail which will make the board feel fast when gliding across the water as well as produce a more consistent pop off the wake. The RXT has the fastest rocker line Ronix offers, which allows you to gain plenty of speed, and carry that speed into the flats. Introduced in 2022 the RXT features a new tip and tail shape that breaks up the water, resulting in softer and more forgiving landings. For example, if you don’t quite stomp the trick but manage to keep the board under your feet, the tip/tail design is going to help you recover by not gripping too hard onto the water and allowing you to regain control.

Massi grabs his board a lot, and we don’t mean just grabbing it out of the car and bringing it to the dock, we mean Methods, Chicken Salads, you name the grab and Massi has probably done it. Another nice feature are the grab rails located on the top and bottom of the board which create a solid point of contact for your hand to hold onto. These grab rails make long and pronounced grabs easier, and feel much better.

Ronix One Blackout

The One features a solid 3-stage rocker which delivers serious pop off the wake. For 2022 Ronix took the iconic One shape and shaved 1.5 pounds off it. This means the board is going to feel extremely lightweight under your feet, and will make spinning and flipping easier.

The One is Ronix’s longest running high-end wakeboard, and for good reason. Originally starting off as Danny Harf’s board of choice, the One is now by ridden great riders all over the world, including 3-time defending Pro Wakeboard Tour champion Nic Rapa.

Consensus

Both the RXT and the One are great options for intermediate to advanced riders who are looking for a high-performance and lightweight wakeboard. If you are riding behind a boat that doesn’t have a particularly large wake, or you just prefer the explosive pop that only a true 3-stage rocker can give you, the One might be the board for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a fast board that will have softer landings and be a bit easier to lock into grabs on, the RXT would be a good choice.

If you find yourself riding behind the boat and are looking for a board that will perform at the highest level, you cannot go wrong with either the RXT or the One.
